Shannon is a resolute neutral who brings to her practice more than fifteen years' experience representing individual and institutional plaintiffs as well as corporate defendants in complex civil litigation. She has advocated in court on behalf of injured individuals and union pension funds in both single-plaintiff cases and multi-party consumer protection class actions, including the successful opposition of an appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Shannon has also ardently represented the interests of publicly traded and privately held companies in employment law cases concerning both union and non-union employees, including FLSA collective actions and wage and hour class actions, with favorable outcomes. She has both challenged the world's largest financial institutions in court, and represented the interests of a Fortune 500 company, all with the integrity, grit and expertise she brings to her practice as a mediator | arbitrator.
Shannon has resolved hundreds of cases for clients on both sides of the "v" and is regarded for her skill in handling both the legal and human aspects of complex civil and commercial matters. She understands both what motivates and hinders companies when it comes to settlement because she has conducted those very same risk analyses on behalf of her corporate clients. A decision-maker when it came to litigation strategy, Shannon is well versed in the internal dynamics that define corporate defendants' capacity at settlement.

Shannon is trained in design thinking from the Conflict Lab in Pittsburgh and has apprenticed with prominent commercial and civil litigation mediator | labor arbitrator, Robert Creo. Mr. Creo has decades of mediation and arbitration experience and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Elkouri & Elkouri: How Arbitration Works. Shannon provided research support for Mr. Creo in 2006 when he co-founded Mediators Beyond Borders International, a nonprofit which connects mediators with communities traumatized by war, and she is serving as Associate Editor for the 2024 update to Elkouri & Elkouri: How Arbitration Works.
